EU funding for Innovation, Research and Commercialization

International Relations Office and the Postgraduate Institute of Science, together with the Delegation of the European Union to Sri Lanka and the Maldives organized a seminar on EU funding for “Innovation, Research and Commercialization”, on 6th March 2020 at the New Conference Room of the Postgraduate Institute of Science, University of Peradeniya. Around 40 participants including a majority of the Academic staff of the University were present at the programme.

Prof. Y.P.R.D. Yapa, Director of the Business Linkage, Innovation, Incubation and Technology Transfer Office (BLITTO), University of Peradeniya welcomed the gathering. Prof. H.M.T.G.A. Pitawala, Director of the Postgraduate Institute of Science made the opening remarks.

Dr. George Bonas, the Managing Director of the Centre for Regional and International STI Studiesand Support (CeRISS) enlightened the participants on finding call for proposals and patents for Horizon 2020. Mr. Mantas Vilys, the Director of Lithuanian Innovation Centre discussed on how to linkup with EU portals and networks. A Q&A session was also held at the end of the discussions. Concluding remarks and vote of thanks were delivered by Dr. Shameen Jinadasa, the Director International Relations Office.
