Information Session on Higher Study Opportunities in Germany
29 July 2020International Relations Office together with DAAD Information Centre Colombo and Postgraduate Institute of Science (PGIS), organized an Online Information Session on Higher Study Opportunities in Germany via Zoom meeting facility on 29th July 2020. This session targeted the students at University of Peradeniya who wish to study in Germany for Master and PhD Degrees.
Dr. Shameen Jinadasa, Director, International Relations Office, made the welcome address. Prof. H. M. T. G. A. Pitawala, Director, Postgraduate Institute of Science, University of Peradeniya also deliverd a speech at the online session. Mr. Nadeesha Palliyaguru, Information & Office Manager, DAAD Information Point Colombo, conducted the webinar. During his presentation Mr. Ubaya Higgoda and Mr. Niranjan Fernando from Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya who has recently finished their PhD studies in Germany shared their experience with the participants and motivated students to apply for Postgraduate studies in Germany. Ms. Anuroopa Dixit, Programme Officer, DAAD Regional Office New Delhi also highlighted on possible scholarship opportunities in Germany.
Over 120 students from the University of Peradeniya joined in this online program. A brief Q&A session was also conducted after the online session.
