International Relations Office

International Relations Office, University of Peradeniya organized an Awareness Program on International Joint-PhD Programs on 03rd December 2020, via ZOOM meeting facility. This webinar was targeted for all the academic and research staff of Universities in Sri Lanka to create awareness in the process of initiating International Joint-PhD Programs between Sri Lankan Universities and other foreign institutes.

Prof. Shameen Jinadasa, Director, International Relations Office, made the welcome address. Well renowned researchers who are experienced in conducting international collaborative research namely, Prof. Saman Halgamuge, University of Melbourne, Australia, Dr. M. C. M. Nasvi, Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya and Prof. Ashantha Goonetilleke, Queensland University of Technology, Australia, enlightened the participants with their valuable thoughts and experiences on International Joint-PhD Programs.

A Q&A session moderated by Dr. Nanda Gunawardhana, Director, Research and International Relations, Sri Lanka Technological Campus (SLTC), was also held after the presentations. In addition to the speakers, Prof. Rohana Chandrajith, University of Peradeniya, Prof. Terrence Madhujith, Director, University Reaserach Council, University of Peradeniya, also joined the Q&A session as panelists to share their experiences. Over 135 participants from Universities across Sri Lanka took part in this online program.
