On 28 January 2019, Prof. David Damrel, Associate Professor of Religious Studies at the University of South Carolina, USA and Dr. Markus Dettenhofer, Executive Director, Central European Institute of Technology (CEITEC), Brno, Czech Republic visited University of Peradeniya, in order to engage in varied academic activities at UoP.

To discuss their activities and its conduction at UoP, a meeting has been arranged at the Vice- Chancellor’s Office. Prof. David Damrel along with his wife, Dr. Dixie Damrel, Dr. Markus Dettenhofer and Dr. Shameen Jinadasa, Acting Director, IAO took part in the meeting.

It was stated that Prof. David Damrel, Associate Professor of Religious Studies at the University of South Carolina, USA will be attached to the Faculty of Arts as a Fulbright scholar for a semester commencing from January, 2019 whereas Dr. Dixie will be working with the Department of Botany, Faculty of Science and also with the Royal Botanical Gardens, Peradeniya and IFS.

The purpose of the visit behind Dr. Markus Dettenhofer was to conduct a 04 day training workshop on Authentic Leadership from 29 January- 01 February 2019, in collaboration with the Career Guidance Unit and International Affairs Office. Also he has been scheduled to conduct two Talks at the PGIS and at the Faculty of Management.
