Horizon 2020 Information Day
24 October 2019International Affairs Office and the Postgraduate Institute of Science, together with the Delegation of the European Union to Sri Lanka and the Maldives organized a one day seminar to learn about EU’s research and innovation programme, Horizon 2020, on 24th October, 2019 at the Auditorium of the Postgraduate Institute of Science, University of Peradeniya. Professor Upul B. Dissanayake, Vice-Chancellor graced this occasion as the Chief Guest.
Mr. Frank Hess, Head of Cooproration, Delegation of the EU to Sri Lanka and the Maldives, Ms. Tania Friederichs, Head Counsellor for Research and Innovation at EU Delegation to India, Mr. Mattia Ceracchi, International Cooperation Service Facility of the EC, and Mr. Ranjan Kathiravel, Delegation of the European Union to Sri Lanka and the Maldives shared their expertise on funding opportunities for cooperation between Sri Lanka and Europe through Horizon 2020 programme. Discussions covered during the programme provided useful information on the topics and areas funded under the Horizon 2020 Programme, available research career opportunities, how to prepare and submit proposals and on networking platforms.
Professor S.H.P.P. Karunaratne, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Directors from the PGIs, Deans from the Faculties, Academic members of the Faculties from the University of Peradeniya and also from other universities, EU Delegates, postdoctoral students and members from the industry also participated in this successful event.
