A donation programme coordinated by the Alumni Association of the University of Peradeniya (AAUP) was successfully held recently at CP/Denu Manikdiwela Central College, Menikdiwela providing educational supplies to the school children in the area.

The event was attended by Ven Kahagala Seelananda, Assistant Educational Director, the President and officials of AAUP, the Principal of the school, and members of the teaching staff. Educational stationery and essential items were distributed to students, including those significantly impacted by the recent floods in the area.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Deepthi Bandara, President of AAUP, expressed sincere appreciation to the donor, Ms. Yazhuo Xing, an esteemed alumna of the University of Peradeniya presently residing in China, for her generous contribution. She emphasized that Ms. Xing’s donation will provide substantial support to students, enabling them to pursue their education effectively in this challenging period.

The programme reaffirmed AAUP’s commitment to educational excellence and its ongoing dedication to broaden social responsibility.
