The Western Australia Chapter of the Alumni Association of the University of Peradeniya successfully held its annual flagship event, Hanthana Night 2025, on September 13, 2025. This tradition, which began in the early 2000s, serves to reconnect alumni and friends while generating vital support for current students.

The collective effort culminated in a significant fundraising success, with proceeds dedicated to studentships for undergraduates in need, thus removing financial barriers to academic ambition.

The night’s entertainment featured two Sri Lankan stars: the charismatic male vocalist Clifford Richards and the highly celebrated female vocalist Corrine Almeida. Their combined star power enhanced an evening already filled with nostalgia, purpose, and community spirit.
