In February 2024, a sponsorship worth Rs. 600,000.00 was received from Professor Siva Sivananthan, Professor Emeritus, University of Illinois at Chicago, USA, to utilize the Pera Sixes- Invitational Hockey Tournaments. The AAUP Executive Committee approved the request made by the Director/ Physical Education Division, University of Peradeniya, to purchase ten (10) hockey sticks from this sponsorship to strengthen the team’s preparation for upcoming competition viz. Sri Lanka University Games, expected to commence 17th September 2025. On 4th September 2025, the cheque was handed over to the captain of the University Hockey Team.
