History





The Sri Lanka – Japan Study Centre (SLJSC) was established under the approval and directive of the Council of the University of Peradeniya at its 416th meeting held on 9th February 2013. The SLJSC was highlighted in the Joint Statement issued on 14th March 2013 by the H.E. the President of Sri Lanka and H.E. the Prime Minister of Japan. The Vice Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya officially launched the SLJSC on 29th March 2013 at the Inaugural Session of the Sri Lanka – Japan Collaborative Research- 2013 Conference held in Kandy.

To create a forum for scientists and experts from various disciplines to establish international collaborations, exchange ideas, and formulate concepts and practice leading to sustainable developmental research between Sri Lanka and Japan
