Inter University Volleyball (Men & Women) Championships for the year 2014 was successfully held at the University of Peradeniya. Our girls' team emerged 02nd runner up at the tournament. For this championships teams from all 14 state universities both men & women teams participated. This grand event was organized by the Department of Physical Education, University of Peradeniya during the period 24th to 26th July 2014 at the Gymnasium. The Vice Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya, Prof. Athula Senarathne was the Chief Guest at the Opening Ceremony. At the opening ceremony, Prof. Shantha K. Hennayake, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Anura Wickramasinghe, Dean, faculty of Science, Prof. MD Lamawansa, Dean, and faculty of Medicine, Actg. Registrar Mr. PH Punchihewa, and other academic, administrative, & nonacademic staff members graced the occasion.
