Long Distance runners of University of Peradeniya clinched the 01st Runner-up trophy at the Inter University Road Race Championship-2015 held at the University of Jaffna on 07th June, 2015. The length of the course was 10 km starting from Punnalaikadduwan north junction to University of Jaffna playground, Thirunelvely.

Agricultural 02nd year student Gayan Priyasad Wijesinghe secured the first place clocking 34 minutes and 53 seconds.

University of Peradeniya student athletes obtained aggregate points of 82, while the champions, University of Sri Jayewardenepura obtained 28 aggregate points. The third place goes to the organizing university, University of Jaffna. The trophies & certificates were distributed soon after the completion of the event. The Vice Chancellor of the University of Jaffna, Prof. (Mrs.) Wasanthi Arsarathnam graced the closing ceremony as the chief guest. The President of the Sri Lanka Universities Sports Association, Dr. S. Kannathasan was the guest of honor at the event.
