Starting the Inter University Sports festival for the year 2015, University of Colombo ground was very busy with the sports fans to see Elle Championships of the Inter University Games 2015 which was held on 24th & 25th May 2015. All the state universities were participated for this exiting game and the students from the hill country claimed the prestigious champion's trophy at the women's category.

Although there were 14 girls' teams, the University of Wayamba, University of Moratuwa, University of Peradeniya and University of Sri Jayewardenepura were qualified for the semifinals. At the first semifinals, lasses from the University of Peradeniya scored 8 runs in their inning. However, their opponents, the University of Moratuwa could score only 3. On the other end, Wayamba University of Sri Lanka and University of Sri Jayewardenepura battled for the next semi final and Wayamba University of Sri Lanka managed to be qualified to the grand finale by scoring 7 and limiting the opponents to 6.

Throughout the tournament, our girls showed splendid performances and they proved that they deserve for the prestigious crown of Inter University Elle Championship. Nevertheless to say, they did even better at the finals and claimed the deserved title by pulling down the Wayamba University into the second position of the tournament. At the finals, our girls scored 04 points and fight hard to limit their opponents only for 2 points. Players of University of Peradeniya were determining to claim the trophy after a lap of more than a decade did no mistake and reached what they expected at the conclusion of the event.
