About the Health Centre

The Health Centre serves a population of nearly 40,000 individuals, including students, university employees, and their families. It also plays a key role in public health maintenance, environmental health, and waste management within the university premises. An Intermediate Care Centre (ICC) has been established to support students recovering from mental health conditions. These students, who may not yet be fit to return to their hostels or homes after being discharged from psychological wards, receive counselling and pharmacological management at the ICC in a supportive and monitored environment.

To meet the healthcare demands of such a large population, a well-organized work program is in place. A personal health file is maintained for every individual at the Health Centre. For employees, the file begins with their pre-employment medical report and is updated throughout their service until retirement. For students, a file is opened at the time of university admission and maintained until they complete their academic career. This is the only institution of its kind in the country to maintain an individual health file for every person within a population of this scale.
