The University of Peradeniya expresses its deepest condolences on the death of Professor C.L.V. Jayathilaka, a former Vice Chancellor of the University.

Professor C.L.V. Jayathilaka, one of the former Vice Chancellors of the University of Peradeniya passed away on 31st August 2021.

Professor C.L.V. Jayathilaka, who served in the capacity of Dean of the Faculties of Engineering, of the University of Peradeniya and University of Ruhuna, Vice-Chancellor University of Peradeniya and Chairman of the National Education Commission, had contributed his services immensely to the country.

Vice-Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya & University community express its deepest sympathies on the demise of Professor CL.V.Jayathilaka. May he attain the supreme bliss of Nibbana
