After a laps of years, Athletic & Hockey Pavilion complex was received to the Division of Physical Education and this pavilion was a long-felt need of the Department and the building was ceremonially opened on 08th July 2021 under the distinguish patronage of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Upul B Dissanayake. Although this opening was very simple and charming due to the COVID 19 pandemic situation prevailing in this country, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Professor S.H.P.P.Karunarathne and all the Deans of the Faculties together with the Librarian, University of Peradeniya were participated to grace the occasion. Among the visitors, there were few Administrative officials including Act. Registrar, Actg. Bursar, Works Engineer, and Project Manager together with the building architecture Mr. Gamini Dissanayake.
