Programme of the tree planting and handing over root ball trees was held near the Alwis Pond, University of Peradeniya. The programme was organized by the University of Peradeniya and the State Ministry of Rural roads and other infrastructure. Prof. MD Lamawansa, The Vice-Chancellor, University of Peradeniya, Prof. Ranjith Dissanayake, Secretary, Ministry to the estate ministry of Rural roads and Infrastructure; Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Prof. Gemunu Herath, Dean of the Faculty of Science Prof. Shaluka Kodithuwakku, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture Prof. Gamini Pushpakumara, Prof. S.P. Nissanka, Mrs. Jayantha Dharmasiri, Acting Register of the University of Peradeniya and Mr. Nimal Ananda, curator University of Peradeniya were also present at the occasion.
