The University of Peradeniya has launched an Outbound training Programme (OBT - Camp) during the weekend from 14th - 16th February 2020. It was organized by the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Arts at Ridee Viharaya Conference Centre, Kurunegala. This programme was designed for the first year undergraduates of the University of Peradeniya and co-ordinated by Prof. Nandana Wijesinghe.

To grace this event the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Upul B. Dissanayake was participated as the Chief Guest. On the first day, at the opening ceremony traditional dancing events were presented by the students.

The main aim of the training programme is to introduce students the vital role of the leadership and team work including, group dynamics, emotional intelligence, behavioural pattern, conflict resolution, communication skills, time management and also to build respect, confidence with each other and spiritual development.

The outdoor events were organised for them to increase their activities more effectively such as yoga, meditation, breathing exercises and music therapy for relaxation. Qualified Resource persons delivered lectures from the University of Peradeniya and other institutions. At the end of the programme undergraduates gathered valuable knowledge and experience than before to their lives with lot of fun.
