Meeting with Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan was held on 16th August 2021, with participation of Prof. M.D. Lamawansa, Vice Chancellor, University of Peradeniya, Prof. Shameen Jinadasa, Director, International Relations Office, University of Peradeniya and Mr. Jehanzeb Khan, Project Director, Pak-Sri Lanka Higher Education Cooperation Programme, Ms. Aisha Abu Bakr Fahad, Second Secretary (Politics and Education), High Commission in Colombo, Mr. Javed Hassan Awan, Project Manager, Higher Education Commission and other Officers from the side of Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.

Discussions were done regarding the possible research and academic collaborations between University of Peradeniya and Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and further it was discussed to build the links between National Universities of Pakistan with the University of Peradeniya with the support of the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan followed by the discussion regarding the Execution of the “Proposal for the establishment of Centre of Asian Civilization and Culture”.

Further, it was discussed to extend the collaborations for Joint Postgraduate Degree programmes and Research Collaborations with the support of National Academy of Higher Education, Pakistan. Apart from the possible future collaborations, progress of the current collaborations including Erasmus+ programmes were discussed as well.
