Meeting with Assistant High Commission of India was held on 19th August 2021, with participation of Prof. M.D. Lamawansa, Vice Chancellor, University of Peradeniya, Prof. Asiri Abeyagunawardena, Dean, Faculty of Medicine, University of Peradeniya, Prof. Shameen Jinadasa, Director, International Relations Office, University of Peradeniya, Dr. Athira S., Assistant High Commissioner of India, Mr. Kaplan Singh, Assistant Attaché from the side of Assistant High Commission of India.

Discussions were done regarding the progress of the current collaborations, possible scholarship opportunities and research collaboration related to all fields of University of Peradeniya and proposed to develop an Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) chair for the University of Peradeniya. Further, it was discussed to develop an Indian book corner for the University Library as well as to organize an India-Sri Lanka cultural day. Further, it was discussed to organize a medical camp for the communities in the tea plantations with collaboration of the Medical Faculty.
