International Research Centre (InRC) (presently known as International Relations Office - InRO) has awarded 18 research grants to the outstanding academic staff members of the University of Peradeniya to conduct research in the year 2013 and presently all grantees have completed their research successfully. Hence the International Relations Office (InRO) organized the "InRC Research Grants Completion Awards" in order to acknowledge the grantees of InRC. The Ceremony was held on 10th July 2020 at the Senate Room of University of Peradeniya. Prof. Upul B. Dissanayake, Vice-Chancellor, University of Peradeniya, Prof. S.H.P.P. Karunaratne, Deputy Vice- Chancellor, University of Peradeniya, Dr. Nanda Gunawardhana, Former Director, International Research Centre and the grantees along with many distinguished guests including Deans of Faculties, Directors of Units and Centres graced the prestigious occasion.

Dr. Shameen Jinadasa, Director, International Relations Office, made the welcome address. Prof. Upul B. Dissanayake, Vice-Chancellor, University of Peradeniya, and Prof. Terrence Madhujith, Director, University Research Council, University of Peradeniya, also delivered speeches at the Ceremony. All the awardees summarized their research work and outcome & shared their experience with the audience. Vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. (Mrs.) P. C. G. Banadaranayake, Director, Agricultural Biotechnology Center, University of Peradeniya, who was the first recipient of the InRC Research Grants.
