Implexx sap flow sensor system donated by Watawala plantation PLC

The Watawala Plantation PLC donated a Sap Flow Sensor System which is used to measure stem flow of tress to Prof. S.P. Nissanka, Department of Crop Science, Faculty of Agriculture, and University of Peradeniya, symbolizing a cordial and effective public-private partnership. The handing over event was held on 11th February, 2021 in the presence of Prof. Upul B. Dissanayake, Vice Chancellor of the University of the Peradeniya, Prof. D.K.N.G Pushpakumara, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Mr. Vish Govindasamy the Director, Mr. Binesh Panangala the Chief Executive Officer and a Group of Executive Staff of the Watawala Plantations PLC, Heads of the Departments of Crop Science and Soil Science, and final year students specializing crop science at the Board Room of the Faculty of Agriculture. A demonstration on the use of the equipment was conducted by Dr. Nayanaka Vidanagamage. On behalf of the University of Peradeniya, Vice Chancellor expressed his sincere appreciation about this donation and consider this as an long term investment which both parties will be benefited.
