Rover Scout Enrollment Ceremony – University of Peradeniya

 

The Rover Scout Enrollment Ceremony was successfully held on April 11, 2025, at the University of Peradeniya, marking a significant milestone in introducing the Rover Scouting Movement to the university.

A total of 51 undergraduate students were formally enrolled into the Rover Scouting Movement after completing six months of structured scouting activities and leadership training. This initiative was organized by the Career Guidance Unit in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Scout Association.

The event was honored by the presence of Professor Ranjith Pallegama, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya, as the Chief Guest. Professor Dileep de Silva, Director of the Career Guidance Unit, also participated as a guest.

Representing the Sri Lanka Scout Association were Mr. Srilath Silva, Assistant Chief Commissioner – Rover Scouting; Mr. Indika Prasanna, Assistant Headquarters Commissioner; and Mr. Saliya Prasad Dahanayake, Assistant District Commissioner – Rover Scouts and International Affairs. Ms. Sumudu Lankathilake, Career Counsellor and Rover Scout In-Charge at the University of Peradeniya, played a pivotal role in guiding and coordinating the program.

This ceremony marks the beginning of a new chapter in empowering undergraduates through scouting values, leadership development, community service, and personal growth.
