Being the pioneer university and the leading research university in
Sri Lanka, the University of Peradeniya recognizes the need for
encouraging the utilization of research findings for the development
of the country by transforming results to practical applications and
commercialization.
The core role of the
Business Linkage, Innovation, Incubation and Technology Transfer
Office is to assist the University in acquiring, managing and
exploitation of its intellectual assets in ways that facilitate
their transformation into benefits for the University, researches
and in general the society.
Specific tasks of
TTO includes Receiving and reviewing completed Invention Disclosure
forms; Conducting all operations necessary to manage process, protect,
license, and report inventions related to the University; Negotiating
licenses to the University inventions and related property rights;
Administering the distribution of net license revenue; Facilitating and
promoting technology-based entrepreneurship including start-ups and
spin-offs and national economic development.
The very first Coordinating committee meeting of BLII-TTO is scheduled to be held on the 18th of September 2020 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the senate Room, University of Peradeniya.
